Recently, the Greek authorities requested our partner organization to assist with the relocation of the camp in Samos, an island neighboring Lesvos. We (i58) were also recruited to help with this effort and currently have a small team of volunteers living on the island of Samos.
They are slowly working on taking the census of the old camp,Vathi, and are preparing to move families into better conditions in the new camp, Zervou.
Long-term volunteers will be assisting with similar tasks as we have been accustomed to on Lesvos: housing allocation and everything that goes with it.
We are grateful for the new opportunities that Samos has brought and look forward to the continued work there.
